Romantic Activities to Do in Paris

1. Get Lost on the Narrow Back Streets of Montmartre

The many narrow streets of Montmartre all have an individual charm. They weave down into the depths of the hill till you arrive at a path that is so steep and narrow. The houses on this street are double-story, dark, and closed up against the night, making it seem like they’re always watching you, as if to say, “Don’t come down here.”

“Paris is a state of mind, a way of life, a city that captures the heart and never lets go.”

– Anais Nin

But as the way leads you to Sacré Coeur. The overwhelming gray stone took me by surprise when I first saw it in the midst of all these rooftops; this unique church seems out of place but not in a bad way—it’s one of those things you feel like you ought to stop and appreciate its presence somehow, but can’t quite figure out how.

You can also spend the entire day roaming through the winding streets looking up at the church and its many stained glass windows. It’s hard to walk by without stopping to admire this structure—it’s one of the most iconic spots in Paris, after all.

Plus, there is a fun little cafe where you can sip a cup of coffee or a bottle of wine and enjoy a snack on the terrace with some panoramic views of Paris.

2. Take a Stroll Around the Beautiful Parks to Discover the “Temple of Love”

Temple de l’Amour is a small church that symbolizes the romantic side of Paris. There are no gallant columns or statues of the Madonna here; rather, it is meant to resemble Pandora’s box with its gold and silver doors. The ceilings inside are beautifully painted.

This little chapel also has an amazingly eclectic history so if you want to know more about it, then head down to Montmartre for some shopping on place du Tertre, where you will find many artists exhibiting their work in the sides of the streets.

3. Travel to the Heart of the City for a Spontaneous Dinner for Two

A trip to Paris isn’t complete without a night “on the town.” There are so much things to do here at night, from bars, candlelight dinner, to clubs to shows, that you won’t be able to keep up. Evenings are meant for walking amongst the crowd while holding hands or having an ice cream cone. There’s no place better for a spontaneous date than Paris! By evening, everything is open again, and there is quite literally something for every taste.

The best place to start your excursion is around the Louvre, where there’s a big street market. Easily avoidable for anyone with even a whiff of class, this is the perfect place to try different French cuisine and discover new locations. If you’re lucky, there may be a food truck selling street-style snacks or pretzels on le Quai de La Tour-Maubourg. Or why not try out a little bistro in place St-Michel?

If you’re looking for something more upscale and romantic, Le Fouquet’s (behind Hotel Fouquet’s) is one of my go-to’s. I love the decor in this place. It’s warm, inviting, and always full of people. Plus, they have a beautiful terrace overlooking the Seine, which is perfect for watching all the lights come on as night falls over Paris.

4. Sail to Romance in Bois de Boulogne

Usually, you have to row with a boating experience, but not with the Bois de Boulogne. Instead, you can enjoy all aspects of the river while the running water provides you the best sailing experience.

If you want to have a romantic dinner in the water, you can try one of the sailing cruises in Bois de Boulogne. You can enjoy outstanding food and drinks while viewing the beautiful scenery from your own private boat… in other words, it’s everything you could ask for in a romance.

The idea of moving to water has always been an exciting thought, and river cruising is just as good. The idea is much more romantic than going ashore for a meal on dry land. The light breeze and gentle flow of the water will make your love connection even more special.

5. Take a Trip to the Oldest Cigar Shop in the World – À la Civette

This old cigar shop had a spacey feel, which I appreciated as I walked through the front door. The walls were decorated with ceiling to floor bookshelves made of stone. The place is also hooded in the heady scent of fermented tobacco leaves and ancient cigar smoke. Paintings, framed photos, and pottery hung on either side of the staircase leading up from street level. There were piles of boxes on either wall, overflowing onto the old wooden floorboards like slums in a third-world country.

You’ll be shown around by a friendly shopkeeper who would take some time explaining their premium cigars before showing you some more interesting oddities like a box full of pressed tobacco leaves, looking more than 3,000 years old–the oldest human-made thing in existence, according to Cigar Aficionado. À La Civette is widely reputed to be France’s oldest cigar store, and it’s definitely a must-visit, especially if you enjoy a cigar now and then.

6. Indulge in Hot Chocolate at Paris Legendary Cafe – Angelina

It’s hard to resist a treat of decadent hot chocolate in Paris. You’ll definitely love the way it smells and tastes. It’s dreamy and rich-tasting, with no bitter aftertaste like some other brands of hot chocolate. So what would you say about indulging in Paris Legendary Café, Angelina? You get to sip on hot chocolate at this family-owned business that’s been here since 1903. They have a vintage Parisian feeling where you’ll feel right at home as soon as you walk through the door.

If you are in Paris and looking for a cool and romantic spot to hang out, it’s great to visit Le Champo. The building is a landmark on the Left Bank of the beautiful city. On the inside, some mosaics were made in 1927 by artist Albert Besnard. They feature unique depictions of not only what was happening during that year but what would happen over its lifetime.

One of the mosaics famously depicts jazz artists being performed for various parties and celebrations at Le Champo, while others depict actors and actresses from classic films like “The Blue Angel” or “Monsieur Verdoux.”

Walking around Le Champo, you will find a bunch of excellent shops and cafes. The three-screen theater, located on the second floor, is one of the most incredible things to do in Paris at Le Champo. They show classic films every day. So if you’re searching for something fun to do in Paris while you’re there, it’s great to visit Le Champo.

The best thing about visiting the city is that many perfumers are located there so one can make their own perfume.

The experience of making a perfume is very personal because it is made for yourself, not anyone else.
